Proenza Schouler Fall 23 Collection
The brand that started as a collection of embroidered evening wear and slouchy separates in the early 2000s, has become a destination for wearable garments with endless experimentation about cuts, fabrics and proportions. Proenza Schouler has been one of the brands that remains consistent with its vision and has become the interpretation of the downtown cool girl for the last decade. The success? Focus on essential wardrobe separates beyond artistic narratives.
For the ready-to-wear Fall 23 collection, the dynamic duo continued the narrative of who is the Proenza Schouler woman through assertive tailoring and experimental cuts. In the past seasons, we have seen tailoring as the main part of the collections but also it allows you to see the versatility of each piece.
The main highlights were the oversized jackets sculpted at the waist (which I am obsessed with) and a mix of fabrics that create movement and contrast. To complement each look, the designers use accessories with unstructured shapes and flat boots, to accent the contemporary silhouette.
For Jack and Lazaro, this is most personal collection they have designed, rooted in “how we dress, how we live and how we look. It’s a reflection of the women in our lives”. As part of the design process, the duo reflected on their muses’ lifestyle, considering what they wear and what they need from a styling point of view, which was captured in every piece as a versatile item to elevate any look.
