Contemporary furniture for the modern home.

New home, new furniture. Moving to a new place is like a fresh start, a chance to redefine your design taste by experimenting with textures and colors.

In the past couple of weeks, I have spent hours looking for inspiration and browsing the web. Do I want to move towards the Scandinavian minimalism, mid-century modern aesthetic, or an eclectic space?

After spending hours on architecturaldigest.com, I decided to stay loyal to my vision: functional modern furniture with neutral colors and blends of art. Probably, I will be sharing more about my new place but in the meantime, here is a list of design studios and furniture companies you should know:

La Metropolitana

The design studio established eleven years ago by architect Alejandro Gutiérrez and industrial designers Rodrigo Escobedo and Mauricio Guerrero, is taking over Mexico City due to its approach using traditional weaving methods with software-driven CNC technology. Some of the creations can be seen in Hotel Carlota, one of the top boutiques in the city, and La churrería El Moro, a hot spot to try traditional bakery.

Products are available online, in selected stores, and in its new showroom.

Rove Concepts

This Vancouver-based furniture company is focused on sophisticated home decor, elevated fabrics, and materials. Recently, it launched a collection partnered with Maria Sharapova, the renowned tennis player. One of my favorite pieces from the collection is the Maria Sofa that features soft plush seats and velvet fabric in neutral tones, the olive green is a dream.

Sundays

If I have to describe Sundays in a few words, I would say considered aesthetic with a boho beach vibe. The commitment of the company is to offer affordable timeless finishes made with durable materials to make your home feel like a relaxing Sunday morning.
